Welcome to Scotland's community councillors chewin' the fat. This website aims to help community councillors around Scotland to talk to each other. At the moment we have a Facebook group with more than 300 members. This is a general discussion board.
We also have a group that is open to anyone who is interested in the work of community councils - Join the Craik with Scotland's Community Councillors. This is also ideal for community councillors who want to reach out to the wider world. Background Currently there are around 1,125 active community councils in Scotland, out of a possible 1,369 community council areas (some of which represent several communities within their boundary). They are the third tier of Scottish democracy - the tier that reaches deep down to the grass roots of community life and gives our democracy the strong foundations it needs. |
